Event: All Souls’ Day
Join us on November 2nd for All Souls’ Day, a solemn day of prayer and remembrance for all the faithful departed. On this day, the Church honors the souls of those who have passed away, especially those in Purgatory, who await purification before entering the fullness of heaven. This day is dedicated to praying for the repose of their souls, asking God to grant them eternal rest and peace.
All Souls’ Day offers us the opportunity to reflect on the mystery of death and the hope of resurrection, as we remember that through Christ’s victory over death, we are promised eternal life. It is also a time for us to express our love and gratitude for those who have gone before us, offering Masses, prayers, and sacrifices for their souls.
Event Highlights:
- Holy Mass: Special Masses will be celebrated throughout the day for the souls of the faithful departed. During these Masses, we will offer prayers for the dead, asking for God’s mercy and grace to bring them to eternal life.
- Remembrance Ceremony: A remembrance ceremony may be held, where names of deceased loved ones are read aloud, or candles are lit in their memory.
- Prayers for the Faithful Departed: The congregation will join together in prayers such as the Eternal Rest prayer and the Litany for the Faithful Departed, interceding for the souls in Purgatory.
As we observe All Souls’ Day, let us remember our connection to those who have gone before us in faith and renew our hope in the resurrection. Let us pray for their peace and eternal joy with God. All are welcome to join in this day of prayer and reflection.
